LOML and I went to the tent sale today and picked up several bargains. First one was a Shop Fox adjustable mobile base for $45, reg $69. The second was a T10010 10" slow speed wet grinder for $50, reg $189. The grinder was a return, needs new honing wheel and several chips off the edge of the grinder wheel, otherwise works great.

If your only tool is a hammer, you tend to treat all problems as if they were nails.

Good scores! I've been thinking about getting a grinder.
I should have put 2 and 2 together. My parents went to their cabin in Muncy
this weekend. I should have known to check for the Grizzly sale. Argh! I
don't think my mom would like standing in line at 4am in the morning shopping
for tools, though.Comment

I've been thinking about getting one too, the current spring sales cat. from Grizzly shows a fair price for one. I am figuring the stone alone costs a fair amount. I also like the idea of having the leather wheel for stroping. I guess the only downfall is that the wheel is fairly coarse in comparison to what rouge you would put on the leather wheel... I've used a tormek before and from the white wheel to 2 water stones of progressively finer grit then to green polishing rouge on a leather strap.I think in straight lines, but dream in curvesComment
