    NAPA = Cheap

    My local NAPA Store does it while I wait and charges $3.00.

    They also can remove links as the chain stretches, and have wooden spools of chain and can make any size replacement chain.

      My oiling issues seemed to go away when I started using Stihl or Husquvarna oil. It is thicker and seems to stay on the bar better.

      My file like C'man illustrates has angled lines on it to help you file at the right angle. That's all I use. I vary a little as I file but my chains cut well so I must not vary too much. I check the depth occasionally but have never had to do much with that.

      I cut down trees thicker than my saws bar by going in from two sides. So I use my saw for more than just light duty (but admittedly not very often).

        That's good to know. Thanks. I have a NAPA store about 2 miles from me.

          I like the attachment for the Dremel it does a good job. The bits are cheap. One swipe with the bit in the chain tooth does the trick. Repeat till you make it around the chain. Much faster than a hand file/sharpener. I can resharpen all the cutters on the chain on my chainsaw in less than 5 minutes without having to take the chain off.

            I have always just used a round file without a guide. 15-20 minutes later and my saw throws chips instead of dust.
