Hate to admit this, but I thought that too. I e-mailed MLCS and asked. Got a reply back from someone who stated that neither he nor those around him knew what MLCS stood for if anything. The reply left me wondering about the help there. At least the folk who make, package and ship know what they are doing.
I have only been satisfied with the adjustable bits when drilling in soft material and where a raged hole is acceptable. The auger bits with the adjustable spur tend to self adjust while drilling and fly cutters seem to only work well in a drill press and then you have to have a high quality cutting edge. Only the ones for installing recessed cans in sheetrock are, to me, worth the price.
