Twist Plug on Worm-Drive Circular Saw?

I noticed in the specs for a Milwaukee worm-drive CS that they list a twist plug. I'm not familiar with this type of plug. Does that mean I will have to go buy a special receptacle? So far the twist lock receptacles that I have found are pretty expensive. Am I looking at the right item?

No worries they have a twist lock plug on the tool side of the plug. (Guess for easy replacement) the cord will fit in a standard recepticle.

As reddog said and you can also get longer cords so there is nothing to catch as the cord follows you. I had a 50' cord, it was real handy.

Excellent Idea!! You know I have heard somewhere that some people have accidentally sawn through the CS power cord.. .. I just heard that somewhere...

FYI in case it will drive you nuts also. I have a milwaukee circ saw with that cord type. If you get the case, you need to take the cord off every time to fit it in the case without bending it really sharply and possibly damaging the cord.

According to the picture and description the cord is attached permanently to the CS with a strain relief and the twist lock plug is at the end that plugs into the wall. So it seems that I do need a twist lock receptacle.

I stand corrected.

It appears to be available with either a standard Edison or a twistloc plug.

I had several Milwaukee tools purchased back in about 75 or 80 and they had the removable cords. All the drills and the circular saw used the same grounded cord. I was kind of disjointed that the Milwaukee router I got last year did not have the removable cord. I only have one Milwaukee drill left and some extra cords. I was thinking of cutting one short and permanently hooking it up on the router table so there would not be a long cord coiled up, but alas it was not to be.

That twist lock plug on the Milwaukee cs is probably the same one they install
on their holeshooter 1/2" drills. It is a twist lock up at the saw body.It makes removing the cord another feature for transporting in the carry case, helps to
take tension off the cord when not in use. I have one of their holeshooter drills,
LOVE that drill! nothing better in my opinion. The cord end has the standard
3 prong grounded plug. These cords are easy to remove and re-install 1/4 turn
left...it comes off, plug into saw,1/4 turn right it is back on again ready to work.

I thought I responded to this thread. Maybe I forgot to hit "submit". Or, maybe one of the mods didn't like my levity. Anyway, laying out the procedure should take into account where the cord will be throughout the cut so it doesn't get in the way.

The twistlock feature is to keep the plug from accidentally being pulled out. For a hand held tool, I would cut off the plug and install a regular plug. If for some reason you did get to the end of the cord, with a twistlock it would either disrupt the procedure or worse, jerk the tool out of your hands.
