          I have some gear from AO Safety, I gave my respirator to a friend. The 3M 7500 series fit me better...

          My face shield is AO Safety though. I am going to snag 2 or 3 more. They are comfy and work very well. I have already had a spindle get loose on the lathe and had my eyes saved by this thing...

                      I am not knocking it, it looks like a good unit. The one I had just didn't fit me well and leaked. The guy I gave it to uses the heck out of it. He has been replacing his fiberglass batt insulation with that spray in expanding foam stuff, and has been giving the respirator a good workout.

                      As I recall, the AO Safety unit was about 2/3 the cost of the 3M, and you have the cartridges costing less...

                      The one I had used two carts though, not one. It looked a lot like the 3M, just round canister carts instead of the odd shaped tapered rectangles 3M uses...

                      I found the model I had. It was the Quick Latch Pro

                          I've had the AO Safety Quicklatch Pro for nearly 4 years and reallY like it. Replacement cartridges are already in short supply. I was trying to get some from Amazon; the correct number for P100 cartridges I use was listed but not fRom Amazon...from acehardwareoutlet.com or something like that. That site is sellling the older metal cartridge that AO switched away from a couple years ago and won't fit the respirators unless you kept the screw-in, metal can type cartridge hardware that AO SAfety switched us away from. I WOULDN'T BUY AN AO SAFETY RESPIRATOR NOW FOR ANYTHING UNLESS YOU FIND A SUPPLY OF REPLACEMENT CARTRIDGES FOR IT. LET THE VENDERS WITH RESPIRATORS THAT DON'T MATCH CARTRIDGES ON HAND EAT THEM!

                              About a year ago I picked up an AO Safety paint and pesticide Respirator from Harbor Freight which I use for wood working, painting, solvents, sanding, etc. It was far more comfortable than the standard woodworking version plus it was much easier to breathe.

                              This was the model, only cost me $15.99 on sale. Sears sells the same one but their picture has black canisters... and costs $24.99.
