I was getting my bandsaw all back together today and I got to the point of putting on the KREG bandsaw fence. $107 for the fence on a bandsaw I paid $100 for.
I had it all put together and went to screw in the locking knob. Hmmmm, it won't go in. The threads on the knob looked clean so I chased the threads in the rail. Clean as can be. I tried again, no luck. Is it for some reason reverse threaded? Nope, the knob was not threaded at all. Just ribbed. The "threads" just go straight around with no angle to make them actual threads. I have seen a lot of manufacturing defects but never one like that......
The rest of the fence is beautifully made though and is a borderline work of art. I am sure it will work like a charm after KREG sends me another knob that is hopefully threaded this time.
