You get "free" two-day shipping with Amazon Prime (I use the quotes because Amazon Prime is something like $80/year -- not what I'd call free, but that's another story). EVERYbody gets free Super Saver shipping, which can take up to a couple of weeks.

If you're not seeing this (immediately to the right of the item price, as Dave says), try clearing your browser cache or something, because I'm seeing exactly what Dave is seeing.

I think the problem is that I am a Prime member, and the pages have different graphics and content for me. I did not realize that the Super Saver stuff doesn't appear, but as I cruise around, that appears to be the case. I can see how it would be redundant for it to be shown along with the AP stuff.

I will say something about Prime... I do pay $79 a year for it, but it is paid back many times over, as I use it a lot. Two-day shipping is always free, and next day shipping is a flat $3.99. A good example is the equipment I ordered at 6:00pm yesterday... 12 pounds worth, and he has left it at my door as I am writing this. Shipping cost: $3.99. You can't beat it if you use Amazon much, and don't like to wait for your stuff (or as in my case, you don't plan ahead much )

Remember too, that Amazon's shipping turnaround is only within their control when you are buying something that they stock themselves. If you are buying from a 3rd party through Amazon, then it is that third party shipper that calls the ball. Amazon ships quickly, but they leave plenty of room for turnaround time by the 3rd parties, so when one of those guys gets it out in a hurry, Amazon's "estimate" is gonna be plenty wrong.

          Ah! A logical explanation.

I don't doubt that there are many for whom Amazon Prime is a good deal. I might even have been one of them, a few years back, when I was ordering stuff a lot more often than I have been lately. Then again, I've found the shipping date estimates for the free Super Saver service (which, AFAIK, is only available when you purchase directly from amazon.com) to be wildly conservative. On most orders, by the date they estimate the stuff will ship, I will already have it in my hands. I've received many orders (placed directly with amazon.com, not with a third-party that is selling via the amazon.com web site) in two to three days, although the usual wait time is right at one week (which for me is virtually never a hardship, but obviously that's a classic "YMMV" thing).

On other subject ... Jon mentioned the sale price from Woodpeckers. IME they have excellent prices on jig/fixture knobs and leveling legs and stuff like that, so that might be an added incentive for some to order their V27s from them.

Good point Larry. Also if any of you have not joined their e-club you should as you then get their regular emails with offers and a code for 10% off everything on your first order.

Although they state that this is NOT combined with other discounts I ordered a bunch of stuff when I first got this and it did take the 10% of the already reduced sale price.
