Anybody know anything about this blade?

This blade is going on Craftsman Club sale the 22nd for $29.99. Does anybody have experience with this blade or any Craftsman blades?

    Here are the details: http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_1...0P?vName=Tools

I think you can do better. I don't see any laster-cut slots, so I'd guess it is a stamped plate. They also don't say how hard their carbide is.

I'l watch Amazon for deals. They're currently dropping the prices on some of their DeWalt yellow blades.

For the same money, Home Depot has the Freud Diablo 40T Thin Kerf general purpose blade. MUCH better blade. It's what's in my saw!

Not the same blade but the craftsman 32808 (40t, $40) was rated very well by Wood mag in their May 2008 edition (rated above the Freud D1040x, which I believe is the blade dbhost mentions).

I was/am under the impression that the thin-kerf Craftsman professional blades are rebadged Freud Avantis. I bought the 24, 60, and 80t blades the last time they were on this kind of sale.

What are your impressions of the blades?

Does seem to match up with the Freud:

I had one of those in my 21829 and was pretty happy with it.

Hey RmeDad. I was wondering how you know the club sales in advance? Is this posted somewhere?

                thanks.

Check the blade for the 'made in Italy' stamp. If it has it, then it's basically a Freud Avanti blade. I've got the craftsman 80 and 24T blades and both are solid. Spin them in my 3660 whenever I've got a good reason to spin something other than my 30T WWII.

Not crazy about the 50T combo design, but that's probably just me.

Bingo! Walks like a duck....quacks like a duck.

The appearance and design of the 32864 sure conjur up thoughts of the TK906, D1050, LU83, and even the Ridgid Titanium R1050C. Anyone know if it's made in Italy by any chance?

If it is the same blade, it is the one I use most and I love it. Cuts VERY smoothly and I would gladly buy one again.

Ooops... yeah. I haven't even opened the 24t yet, and only used the 60t for a few cuts so far. I did cut some plywood last weekend with the 80t and was extremely impressed with the smoothness of the cut. I use a zero-clearance plate and taped up the crosscuts for insurance, but I had absolutely no tearout on the 3/4" ply. I tried doing something similar with just my 40t lu-series freud and while that cuts nice, it's definitely not for plywood.

The last time they had these things on sale, I think I paid $20 for the 24t, $25 for the 60t, and either $30 or $35 for the 80t. I did the reading and found out about them being rebadged Avantis, so I bit on them.
