I am assuming you are looking for a kit with a compressor and a nail gun. What everyone else said is good. One thing I would take into consideration is how much noise the compressor makes and if that is important to you.

    Have fun, Bill

This air compressor nailer /stapler combo kit from Sears is worth a look if you can find one. It's on closed out. It is compact, lightweight, well balanced, very portable and the operation is very quiet (only 66 db) in comparson to the other compressors I own.

I tried the compressor out at my sisters house while visiting from out of town. I had no problem putting air in a flat tire. It should work fine for nail gun use. I agree with the positive comments others have made about the harbor freight air guns.

An alternative would be to check out this compact compressor from Senco. Reading the reviews is a good way to decide if a small compressor is right for you.

oh, one last piece of advice. Don't go for the nailer/stapler combo gun. At first it appears to be a bargain, doing the work of two guns basically for the price of one.
The downside is that the plunger that drives the fastner is shaped like the head of the staple, so even when you drive a brad nail, it leaves a large elongated dent in the wood - very nasty for appearance sake.

Home Depot just had an ad in this mornings insert for a PC combo unit with their pancake compressor and 4 nailers (throwing in a pin nailer) along with their finish nailer, brad nailer and stapler units. All for $299. That's one H**l of a price!!! I would be all over this deal if I didn't already have this same set (without the pin nailer). Ended up buying the HF 23 ga. pin nailer on sale and coupon for about $15 a year ago.

Don't know if I said it strong enough. This is a great deal!!!

            Home Depot Sale

            What about this:

Would this be great for small jobs around the home?

              glas9592,

              Welcome to the forum!

I'm not sure of the perspective of the photo shown in the link, but the compressor looks fairly small - for comparison sake, I'll assume it's 3 gal (but the picture makes it look smaller.)

You can get a few different compressors at HF in 3g for $65-80 (not on sale) - such as these:

              http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...emnumber=95275
              http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...emnumber=97080
              http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...emnumber=90168

              Add similar guns, like these:
              http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...emnumber=96364
              http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...emnumber=97520

And you'll be in the same ballpark - except the HF 16g nailer above only shoots 2in nails. So I think the Husky package at $129 is very reasonable, if the compressor can drive the guns well.

                A consideration for nail guns

Something to consider when getting a nail/brad gun is what you may be doing with it. Several from HF are well made and work without problems, but, you can't get the gun to nail close to the floor or wall because there is a lot of hardware in front of where the nail and brad comes out. Working in the shop where you have access all around it's not a consideration but for baseboard or trimming a window it may be.

Just a thought, having found this out about mine I have not really looked to see who makes ones that can get into a corner or close to things.

don't ya just love it when in the guise of help you get more things to have to think about?

The husky air tools are made by campbell hausefield.I have a husky compressor 4 gal twin tank oiled version that I really like. You may be able to go to the c-h website and find the same package to get more info. The air compressor I bought came with a frame nailer and 18 ga brad nailer. When I need a brad nailer I always reach for my HF the husky is not consistant about depth of nail set. I really like the frame nailer though.
I think therefore I .....awwww where is that remote.
