    Stupid Q about step pulleys...

    In regards to the band saw, the motor, AND the intermediate have step pulleys. I believe that the smaller the pulley on the motor, and the larger on the intermediate, the slower the blade turns right? I am being a little slow with my thinking tonight sorry...

    Yes. The smaller the motor pulley relative to the wheel's pulley, the slower the speed of the blade. The motor has to go around more often to move the blade the same amount, so the blade moves slower.
