    Planer Delta 22-540

I recently bought a used (abused?) Delta planer. The cutter-head cover has been removed and is dented/distorted but can be easily straightened and there are signs of rust (it hasn't been used for 2 years).

When I looked for fasteners to hold the cover to the body I cannot find any screw locations. The only things I see are two setscrews; one on each side. The cover seems to fit over these two setscrews. My question - are these setscrews the only thing that holds the cover to the body? The parts catalog on the internet isn't clear in this area.

    TIA,
    Don Guhr

Those are studs, not setscrews, just slip the cover over them, place the wingnuts on, and tighten 'em up.
    Y'all have a gooden...jes

You may not need it now but the manual for that machine can be found under Product Details at this Amazon link

Thanks, Jes. The wing nuts are missing but should be easy to find.

If you can identify the size / thread pitch, you may be able to replace them with some nice knurled knobs...
