HF ear muffs -- any good?

was wondering if anyone has tried the HF ear muffs? do they work? are they any good?

if you dont have any experience with them or dont like them, then what are you using or would suggest getting?

The link you provided is broken.

I have a pair of these Ear Muffs from HF:
    Western Safety
    94334-4VGA

They are a little smaller than the AO Safety brand I picked up at Lowes,
    but otherwise they work fine.

I have a couple of pairs of Winchester Shooters muffs that I picked up at Wally World on a post hunting season clearance. They work great for both the deer blind and the workshop...

(If these things can silence the .06, they will have no problem making the planer tolerable!)

I've got two pair I use, one for yard work and one for my shop. They work fine for me. A lot more comfortable than ear plugs and seem to do a better job blocking the noise. You can catch them on sale for $2.00 quite often. I work in heavy equipment and I've tried a bunch of different types of hearing protection. For the average noise around residential construction they work great.

I picked up the same ones recently. I really haven't used ear protection 'till these except for some foam plugs every once in a while. My ears didn't feel too good after the first time I used my DW735 planer, so I finally got some muffs. My dogs ate my last set of plugs.

I use them quite a bit now, the reduction is nice. The only thing I don't like is they don't fit really well with my safety glasses, but it's not that big of a deal. I think a set with a thicker and a bit more flexible surround would work better.

My local HF carries the inexpensive AO safety ear muffs ($5). They do a pretty good job, and I keep them for spares, or WHEN (rarely) I get help (I am the helper of the family).
She couldn't tell the difference between the escape pod, and the bathroom. We had to go back for her.........................Twice.

I have a pair of Harbor Freight 43768 ear muffs that I use on occasion. I find that they work just as well as a pair of shooting ear muffs that cost me about 15 times as much.

They are fine especially for the price, my daughter has here own pair for when she comes out to build stuff with daddy.

BTW, you might be looking at the HarborfreightUSA.com site rather than the Harborfreight.com site. HFUSA doesn't show prices except for specials/coupons and store flyers. HFUSA is usually pretty accurate with what is in the retail stores, where as HF.com is more geared to the catalog/online items.

Not sure how much you are paying for Shooting muffs. My Winchesters cost me $7.99 for the pair, and they work fantastic! I bought two pairs for use when I get the occasional help in the shop...

So that's what's going on. I guess I've never paid any attention to the URL!

I have one of those 43768. It's OK.
The picture on HF website shows the guy wearing the ear muffs and goggles while using the edger. But his sneakers just counterpoints that safety message. Shouldn't he be wearing steel tip work boots?

I have the electron ones: http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...emnumber=92851

I like that I can hear conversations, and music, until the sound gets over 85dB, it cuts out.
