Should come in handy if you're building a log cabin.

Rented one like that once to build a retaining wall from RR crossties (didn't want to gum up my chainsaw with creosote). Worked like a champ...

Here's a more current saw. They are a mutha to handle, and hard to turn your hand while it's running. Not that easy to maneuver.

When I worked for another heavy equipment dealership, we got the contract to rebuild all the local Seabee equipment. One of the things we rebuilt were a number of radial arm saw trailers. These were trailers pulled behind a truck that had a heavy duty radial arm saw with a 24 inch blade on it. Nothing else on the trailer, it was purpose built for this device. Coolest thing on two wheels I've ever seen.

I occassionaly get kick back from my tiny 7-1/4" saw. Imagine the kick back fromt that thing.

And where did he get that $3000 figure from? Is it made by Festool or something

Way off on price. Amazon has it new (same model as Cabinetman listed) for $600 pretax, shipped. (pretax in NY)

I remember the pictures long ago of Dino, building a plate for one to use with his EZ smart system for someone. I've used a 10 1/4" one, and Freud was the easiest, non special order blades to find.

As for the Radial arm saw trailers, did you ever see a magnesium one? (all magnesium, but the tires and the windings) Those are WWII vintage DeWalts that are rare, and I would love to find a picture of one.

                  beam saw $75

there is one almost identical to that currently on CL here
                  Only asking $75
Condition looks a little more "used" but show how wild CL prices are

The ones I saw were painted olive drab, and I just assumed they were steel. I guess they could have been from WWII, but I didn't realize radial arm saw technology went back that far. I'm sorry, but I didn't have a phone with a camera at the time so no pics. I no longer work for that company, either, so I probably won't be seeing them again.
