    c-man, I will disagree with you on one point here. The meathod that was mentioned will work every time and is easy to remember. You method, while it will work only takes a small miscalculation to ruin a piece. If you forget the differential, change blades, or add incorrectly, you're hosed.

    It's fine if you are perfect, but not everyone is.

      The OP asked if there was a way to set the fence in comparison to a right tilt. I offered a suggestion. My methods aren't the only methods and may not work for everyone. Mistakes can be made with many methods doing this and other procedures. Hopefully we learn from our mistakes and miscalculations, and try not to make the same ones again.

      As for what you mean about being "perfect", I would like to think you are referring to efforts resulting in joints fitting or not.
