Ridgid NiCads?

I have the 18v LiIon Ridgid compact drill and I just picked up the 18v LiIon 4 piece combo. While I was at the BORG, I noticed a 2 pack of the 2.5ma NiCad's for $89. A single 3ma LiIon is $99 and a single 2.5ma NiCad was marked $79. What do you think? Is the 2 pack of Nicads worth buying? Thanks for your opinions!

You will want to make sure your charger will handle both Li & nicad. I Think the Ridgid is made to do both, just not sure. Also if you have 4 batteries already and they only take 30 min max to charge 2 more seems like over kill. If you have the lifetime warranty the batteries are covered. Just don't fail to register them. MHO

Kinda depends on your usage. I have the ryobi one+ kits and have had 4 ni-cad batteries. I recently bought the upgrade kits with the two Li batteries. They hold their charge for so long, all 4 ni-cads are sitting there unused.
Maybe during some heavy usage I may need the ni-cads, but my plan is to retire them and have all Li.

unless you regularly run out of juice (all of them) with the batteries you have starting out fully charged, Getting add'l nicads won't benefit you (and that's assuming your charger will handle both types.)

The Nicads have memory, less capacity, self-discharge faster and are heaver than LiON. there's be no reason you would want to use these if you don't drain your Lithium ones.
