    Rockler center drilling vise

I looked at one of the new vises yesterday and today I got an e-mail coupon for 25% off on one item. I pulled the trigger and bought one.
I have one of the Woodcraft toggle vises and like it but it won't take a 2X2 stopper blank. I haven't used the new one yet but it seems to work very smooth and the construction is beautiful. Now I have to make a sub base for it to clamp to the DP table.

And I gotta get by with a squeeze clamp and two chunks of 2x4...

Let us know how the thing works out, Dick...

      Dick,
Would you have the code for the 25% off of one item?

      Thanks in advance

It's part of a sale they have going on through Friday. Coupon Code 3002.

I picked up that vise recently as well. I haven't had much time to do anything in the shop, but I liked how you won't have to adjust the vise for different size blanks, as you would for the toggle vice Woodcraft has. I also like the drill bit storage available is you build a drawer for the vise...

Mine is code 3002 also, but the coupon says "Valid on in-stock items at Rockler retail stores only." Nothing about a particular store.

            Bad decisions make good stories.

              Beware of price increase

The coupon states that it was only good in stores. I bought it as well but was a little bummed. Friday morning the vise price changed from $80 to $90. It was the last day of the sale and I was leaving town anyway so I bought it. ~$67 after the coupon seem pricey but I picked up a edge routing dust collector attachment for $10 which was 1/2 off.
I was told at the store that the catalog, internet and retail operations are separate, but it looked like I just caught the wrong side of a price increase. The store has matched internet pricing in the past, so I don't know the whole story.
I'm looking forward to using the vise though.

We just did the same thing. The Woodcraft vise is a complete piece of crap. This one is solid and clearly can't loosen up like the Woodcraft one does regularly.

I can't wait to use this vise.... Unfortunately, my little benchtop drill press doesn't have enough room for it!

Now it looks like I'm in the market for a floor stander....
