    Waxing cast iron tops!

I went to the local hardware today to get wax for the top on my new bandsaw. They did not have "Johnsons paste wax",but they did have "Minwax paste finishing wax",will this work?

I can't speak for anyone else, but I was given a dozen cans of the MinWax and use it for everything. Seems to work fine.

I think most people consider them equals for waxing table tops.

Too much humidity here for paste wax. Empire "Top Saver" works best for me.

I use Johnsons paste wax in the summer and Boeshield T-9 in the winter.

I like the tool top spray best, much easier to apply and to "top off" regularly.

I have tried Minwax, but found it a little difficult to remove and buff. Switched to Johnsons paste wax and use that on everything in the shop about every 6 months.

You can usually find Johnsons at Ace Hardware or sometimes at WallyWorld!
