I am looking for an electric brad/finish nailer for small jobs so I don't need to set up my noisy compressor. I have a dinky Arrow one that is supposed to shoot 1" brads but IIRC it doesn't do a very good job of getting them below the surface. I'd like to shoot 18gua brads up to 1.5" long. Any recommendations on one like that? If it shoots staples, that would be nice too.

you'll be sorry. They're all like the Arrow. The problem is, they are limited in the instataneous current draw, and have no stored energy. Compressed air is a really great energy storage medium, even the small amount in the handle and hose is better than what you can deliver with a cord.

I second Loring's comments. I bought a craftsman electric brad nailer quite a while ago and had the same problem.- Dennis

It's even more expensive than the Palmgren. I've seen these inuse lately. It should last quite a while with a nailer and is rechageable at any paintball shop.Comment

Steve, probably a good price if you need portability and don't want to have to run off and have bottles filled.
How long does it take to recharge air pressure between shots, and how many shots does a battery charge last?

Loring,
The specs say that it will drive 120-180 18 gauge brads with 2 seconds between shots.
If it does half that well, it will fill my needs. Re-attach loose baseboard or moulding etc. I live in a two story house and have a 24 gal compressor that is hardly portable. And, I am also expected to arrive and do "quick" repairs when called by my extended family.
I'll let you know what it will really do when it arrives.

That's the 3rd party vendor price + $10.50 shipping. Amazon's if $55. Still reasonable.
Now, my recommendation, although out of your price range and not a corded version is the DeWalt. i would regard this as the single best tool purchase I've ever made. No hoses, no compressors, no gas cartridges (paslode), no wires running, etc...Quick charge battery that lasts forever and has never once jammed. Did I say it was the BEST tool purchase I've ever made?

If the Palmgren could run off of Craftsman 19.2V batteries it would be ordered already. I just hate to buy anything with a different type of battery that will need replacing.Doug Kerfoot

I currently have the lowes kobalt co2 regulator that I bought as a $25 dollar customer return Evidently they couldn't figure out why it leaked (no teflon tape)
will use regular paintball tanks (cheap refills) and probably could be converted to nitrogen.
Pros:
so far very powerful, rapid fire, and lasts quite a while I would have to say I would pay full price for it. It will fire my 15 ga finish nailer well. have even thrown a framing nailer on it to see if it works( it does) has nice case and if bought new a small bottle is included. well built nice regulator
cons: for some co2 powered but could probably be converted to nitrogen
comes with some junk accessories cheap
all in all I am rather impressedPhil In Ohio
