    Walker Tuner Jointer

Hey Guys, I have a request for any and all information that anyone can give me on Walker Turner Jointers. I have the chance to pick up one for $80. with new knives and a spare set as well. Has anyone got one of these and or has anyone had any experiences with one? The one I am interested in is a 6".
Let me know Guys what you think.

There are pictures of several 6" jointers made by Walker-Turner.

Not knowing from experience (you might find more specifics over at OWWM forums), the fence design is an older one (probably closest to the HF model), and the bed is shorter then some of the newer ones, but if it works, the price is certainly right.

So real long boards (what sort of projects do you do, can dictate this), and angles (most stay 90 degrees most of the time) would be the only concerns.

I would have liked to find something like that when I started.
She couldn't tell the difference between the escape pod, and the bathroom. We had to go back for her.........................Twice.

Overpriced, especially factoring in the 2500 mile drive, in a truck getting 12 mpg and gas at 3 bucks a gallon

Believe me, I'm on the lookout.

Still working out the details on sneaking a 12" jointer into the garage w/o SWMBO noticing...

You could disguise it as a bus...

(By the way, that CL ad has been running once a week for about a year, so your value judgement is on a par with everyone's around here, except the owner...)

                      lol

her: What's that thing in the garage?

Me: Uh, that's the bus. You know, the bus we currently own and have owned for an indeterminate amount of time.

                      Her: oh ok

How 'bout: "That's one of Elvis' old tour buses... See? Here's his autograph right here... I stole it for only $1800! It'll be worth a couple million someday!"

It appears that Walker Turner was bought out by Rockwell in 1956, and the name remained until the '60s.
