The 75-cent mobile base

Yesterday we tried to move our Jet 18" bandsaw. It doesn't have a mobile base. Dragging it was not going to work. I looked at our Harbor Freight mover's dolly, but it was rated for much less weight and we had the problem of putting it on top of that. A crazy idea hit me...we have a bunch of laminate flooring scraps which are slick on their surface with a foam backing. I put a pair of those under the machine, one on each end, with the foam side up. The bandsaw slid right across the shop with no problem!

Same principle as the fufniture sliders they sell. Round over the edges and corners and the laminate should work on carpet, too.
