Poll: who's got a B&D auto wrench or clamp?

    I wonder who's buying these B&D things.
Two years ago they had a battery powered Tape measure.
Last year they had a battery powered automatic C-clamp
This year it's an automatic adjustable wrench - you push the open or close button and the wrench jaws close onto the nut.

Take the poll did you get any of these?

Goofy. Pure marketing to wifes, kids buying for dad, and other good meaning parties. And as discussed before, how do you return a B&D clamp that you kid glowingly gives to you?

Everytime I walk by a display of these I chuckle. Jeffery hit the nail on the head (with the new B&D Automatic Hammer!!). Pure marketing.

My daughter gave me the automatic wrench last year for Christmas. I use it for everything. It works great, fast, and strong. Would be a fine gift for anyone.

I received the wrench and tape as stocking stuffers last x-mas from the LOML. They now reside in the kitchen 'tool' drawer instead of the shop. As goofy as they are it's the thought that counts! In my wife's defense she recently bought me the Ridgid OSS as part of my gift for this year.

Bought the tape measure myself and it has come in handy in some specific situations, but not many.

The wrench looks cool but I've read other posts saying it didn't clamp tight. And it sure looks big for tight spots.

If you receive one, turn it into a project. Make a very nice display case for it, with or with out an access door - your choice. Then attach a nice sign that says Dad's favorite wrench, clamp or whatever. Hang your display case in a very prominent place in the shop or garage so you will always be able to find it when you need it.....

remember to always take good care of tools.

I bought the tape last year. looked good in the display, The idea was good, one hand run it out - run it in. Didn't work well at all, ran down the battery fast the tape buckeled quickly, took it back. still like the idea.

I enjoy the commerical with the wrench flying into the toilet. I've had days when everthing seemed to go into the toilet.

I received not one, but two of the tape measures as gifts last year. The dang thing is so bulky that I can't put it in my pocket or hang it anywhere else comfortably, and the tape is so flimsy that I can't get the standout I need to really use this thing any place it would be useful. I haven't even opened the second one.

I'm not sure it's a B&D, but my daughter gave me a battery powered clamp last year. Never tried to use it.

I got the tape measure as a gift. I returned it - said I already had one. My in-laws had no problem with me returning it.

                        Auto wrench? - I don't even own a car!

I got the tape and wrench from a family member as a gift. Goofiest things I've seen in a long time. Never been out of the package (2yrs this Christmas). Lives in the bottom drawer of the toolbox. The kids find them and like to play with them.

I got the measuring tape. Kind of helpful for some situations. But the thing is huge (about double of my manual one) and the tape twisted out of shape after few uses. Haven't used it much since. I had to replace the battery immediately as they come with some generic brand that wouldn't power it at all and even with the commercial brand it moves pretty slow. If you're thinking of getting one, I'd say save your $$

                              B&d Tape,wrench.

sTUPID ENOUGH TO BUY THE TAPE AND THE WRENCH. TAPE IS AS ONE POSTER SAID, BULKY AND USELESS..BENDS AS THE BATTERY DIES. THE WRENCH DOSN'T CLOSE WHEN YOU PUSH BUTTON HALF THE TIME AND THE OTHER HALF DOSN'T TIGHTNEN ON NUTS. SPEAKING OF NUTS, I CAN RELATE. I BUY A LOT OF USELESS GIMMICKS. SOMEDAY I WILL LEARN WHEN THEY ALL FALL OFF MY WORKSHOP SHELVES AND HIT ME ON THEHEAD. CAN'T THROW THEM OUT, CAN'T USE THEM....E-BAY?
