    Which tools used most often?

Being new to WW and starting to buy my tools, I am wondering which tools you use more frequent than others. Just curious as to the most "popular" tools. This would help all "newbies" out there as well.

Please put your top 5+ of the following bench/stationary power tools in order which you use most often. Include any other tools you use as well.

    Router
    TS
    CMS
    BS
    Scroll Saw
    Drill Press
    Nail guns
    Jointer
    Planer
    Grinder
    Sander

I am no "old hand" by any means, but I'll take a crack at it. One thing to consider though is this will be influenced by what I (and anyone else) has on hand. I might use a jointer all the time if I had one, but I don't so I use my router for the job.

Also, some of these, I use but could do without. For instance, I own a CMS and it is very convenient, but I can't think of anything I have ever done with it, that I couldn't have used my TS for.

This is probably the order I would put them in for priority:

    Router
    TS
    CMS
    Nail guns
    Sander

I'll add one more that I consider essential - Circular Saw. I use it to make sheet goods manageable and occasionally because it is more convenient to do so.

The DC is on everytime I use the TS, jointer, or planer, and sometimes with the sander and BS, so it's utilized more often then any other. The router rated #5 on my usage list, but it's pretty important to me...I'd be lost without it.

        1. DC (nearly constant use)
        2. TS (frequent use)
        3. jointer (frequent use)
        4. planer (frequent use)
        5. router table (frequent use)
        6. BS
        7. DP
        8. sanders
        9. hand plane
        10. chisels
        11. cordless drill
        12. shop vac
        13. nailers
        14. jig saw (rarely used)
        15. circ saw (rarely used)
        15. biscuit cutter (rarely used)
        16. CMS (rarely used)

                    Tool Lineup

I probably have the oddest tool lineup and I expect the only poster that will include a chainsaw as a shop tool

                    Lathe
                    Grinder
                    Bandsaw

                    Drill Press

                        1. Power Drill/drivers

                        8. Jigsaw
                        9. Drill Press

(yup, no typo - don't have the easy disconnects on the DC (as yet) to use it as much as it's needed).

I love the TS so much that it's my sole hammer for every cut that I could look at as a 'nail' . Wonder how it'd be if I had a real TS instead of this toy.

Here is my top five. My list is in order of use for the project that I am currently working on which will take me well into next year.

RAS-for cutting down very long rough lumber

Jointer-making one straight edge and one flat face

Table Saw-making second edge straight, cutting to length and width after planing.

                            Planer-for making second face flat

Router-making panels, stiles, rails and edge treatments

I could not remove any from the list to name the other important tools that are also used.

Were I to begin buying tools from the beginning for a shop, it would be

                            TS-first
                            Jointer-second
                            Planer-third
                            Router-fourth
                            Drill Press-fifth
                            RAGS
