    Oshlun Dado stack from Rockler

I saw a 6" Oshlun dado stack at rockler the other day for $45. Was marked as "Workshop Tested" or "Approved" or something. Not sure if that means anything other than "Please buy me".

Has anyone used these or heard if they are any good. Comparable to Avenger, Freud SD206? HF?

I don't know about the dado stack, but when I've seen "Woodshop Tested" or some such it was on used tools.

      Oshlun Dado Set

Lance, you took the thoughts right out of my head on this one. I've been looking long and hard at this set and wondered if it would fit my BT3100. Price seems right for a tool that will see only occasional use in my shop.

I saw this set in a catalog a few months ago (full price then) and thought that it looks exactly like my Avenger set. The same (not too common) chipped design, same number of teeth, all of that. Doesn't necessarily mean anything, but I bet this is the heir apparent to the Avenger set.

all this hinting around. They look like the product line for the late lamented Avenger products. Could this be the offshore supplier got a direct distributor? Oshlun, sounds northern chinese.

Well, you guys figured it out. I thought the calipers would give it away but maybe not everyone knew Avenger sold calipers. I don't know the relationship between Oshlun, Avenger and the factory but it is the same product.

I got one of these back when Rockler had sale and also stacked a coupon. I think I paid under $28. Tried it a few times on BT3100. Cut very smooth bottoms and no tearout even with no ZCTP. Didn't try enough combos to check width accuracy but with the supplied shims it should be fine. Not much of anything at that price would be even close. One complaint was lack of storage box or case and like the Avenger no chart for blade/shim width but the earlier posts should give you that.
