Why would anyone, given the choice, choose a 1/4"" shank over 1/2" (if they had collets for both)? For instance, was looking at beading bits: http://www.rockler.com/product.cfm?p...filter=beading and I was just under the impression that 1/2" is more stable, and just curious on whyat, if any benefits for a 1/4" bit?? Thanks

, I want a light-weight router for hand-held work. 1/4"-only shank routers are always lighter than the 1/2" variety.
I bow before you and your unbroken router bits and ultra-clean shop and impeccable workmanship, sir.
