    Band Saw blade

We need an 80-inch blade for our senior center band saw. The local HF does not have them; the HD website does not show them; and the Sears website takes forever to load (I finally gave up).

Does anyone have a source that they can recommend for band saw blades.

    TIA,
    Don

Check with local tool dealers, too. Many of them have BS blade welders and can custom make them for you if you need them quickly.

The guys at Suffolk Machinery are knowlegeable and can make recommendations on blade types for the specific work you want to do. And they make the blades to any length for as good a price, or better, as you could get Timberwolf blades locally.

80" blade is standard for most Craftsman 12" band saws. Many vendors sell blades that length with different teeth configurations. Craftsman blades professional grades are OK, non-professional you better avoid. I use craftsman pro and Olson all-pro blades - they are good. You can find Olson all-pro at amazon, woodcraft, etc. Below is a good all-around blade for 12" Craftsman band saw:

I have to agree with the crowd here, the timberwolf blades are good at a good price. Welded here in my home town. I've had good luck with them. If I were buying a resaw, I'd go wood slicer, but all of my other blades are timberwolf.

Nothing wrong with Olsen blades either though, and Rockler has them. My local Woodcraft has timeberwolf blades, considerably higher priced than I can get them from the welding facility, seems silly to me.
