    vac hose for your router?

Has anyone here had a problem finding the right hose to connect their router or ROS to a shop vac? I did, and I finally found the right one. It is a Bosch VAC001, and it hooks directly to the plunge base of my Dewalt 616 router and my Porter-Cable RAS with no additional connectors needed, it also hooks
directly into the hose connector on my Ridgid shop vac.

Another good point is it will works with any shop vac that has a 2 1/4" inlet connector. The hose is very light in weight, 15' long and not heavy and binding and awkward to use like a regular shop vac hose normally is.
Sure makes the job of sanding and routing a lot easier to do when you don't have to fight the hose all the time.If you need one check these hoses out , it may be what you need, thought I'd pass this info. along to all who have the same problem as I did. eezlock

Yep, got the same hose. I am going to shorten mine to about 10ft as 15ft w/ whatever length shop vac hose is a lot. I figure this will reduce restriction due to length of hose.
This hose works well, as noted fits into end of shop vac without adapter, and end fits a lot of common sized tools. It is a little expensive given how cheaply the hose actually is. While it works well, this is a very light weight hose that is not going to take a lot of being stepped on, etc.

Thanks for the info, eezlock. I have been looking for something better. I have used a Fein step adapter, but don't really like the way it works.

I use a PC host. It is okay, but it is probably a little heavier than it has to be. Can you tell me the internal diameter of the tool-end cuff on your Bosch?

Will this fit a Freud biscuit cutter? Freud says they don't offer an adapter and I can't find anything to fit.

What size is the opening of your chute, (inside and outside) in milimeters?

From all that I have looked at (adapters and such, Bosch in particular), they are measured in a metric to standard fashion (Europe to America).

              bosch vac hose

cgallery and linuxrandall, I just measured the inside diameter of the hose
connector for the tool end and it is 1&13/64", checked it with my digital
calipers. hope this is what you are needing to know.

As far as the bisuit jointer...don't know about that brand, I have a Dewalt
and have not checked it yet, but will mostly work on it as well. eezlock

update: I checked the Dewalt biscuit jointer, and a 1/3 sheet B&D finishing sander and the Bosch vac hose fits them
just fine. Will check my P-C belt sander later on to see if it fits as well.

I measured everything and then spent about 2 hours in the BORGs plumbing dept, leaving with some 1" ID flexible spa hose, a 3/4" id 45-degree PVC tube, and a couple of PVC reducer couplings (can't remember sizing). The spa hose fits perfectly over my PC router dust port and makita ROS. With a small rabbett cut on the outside, the PVC fits in the dust port of my PC circular saw and the spa hose is a perfect friction fit over that. A PVC reducer coupling joins a 1 1/4" shop vac hose to the spa hose. All friction fit, so no hose clamps to fiddle with.

It's not the greatest by catches a lot of dust. The work has to be clamped when cutting with the circ saw, as I need both hands on the saw since the hoses collapse due to the tiny opening.
