It is deceptive and illegal to advertise a refurb/used/returned item as new. When you contact Amazon again, request that they have someone open the replacement before they send it, and do not attempt to pass it off on you if there is any indication that the unit is not brand new. And mention that you think you are due something in compensation for your trouble, and to restore your good faith in Amazon. You might be surprised at the result.

      Amazon Problem Resolved, Sort of

After an exchange of several emails and a phone call from India this has been resolved to some extent. I am still unhappy with the fact I end up with a used or refurbed router.

Amazon says they will research and find out how/why this is happening and admitted that they have had numerous complaints and returns because of this. Once again they offered to refund my money but I have elected to keep the router. In addition they have issued a refund to me for $30 (Thanks Uncle Cracker) for my inconvenience. Guess it leaves me no room to complain about an open box M12V2 for $88.

While I appreciate their actions in resolving this, still leaves a bad feeling about their process.

      Rant Over.
