    Speaking of Bandsaws

Just finished putting a 6" extension block on my Sears 12" bandsaw. Got the parts from an outfit on the east coast. Remember one post a while ago that had all kinds of problems putting his together. Other than some minor revamping work on the case side blade protector it went together like a snap! I now have a bandsaw that will resaw at least a 12" high piece of wood. New blades are 93-1/2". Got some new TimberWolfe blades on a recent trip-but thats another story...see "Round the Coffecup"
Did have to get help putting the top section on as these babies are heavy as sin. So far am as pleased as a pig in s--t!

I did the same to mine, adding 11.5 inches in height, and losing half an inch in the throat...

14" saw is usually 93" going to 105 with a riser.
12" saw (this one anyway) was 81 or 80 going to 93 with the riser.

If your only tool is a hammer, you tend to treat all problems as if they were nails.

Yep, the riser is also a direct fit on the hitachi bandsaw...

mostly only cast-iron frame 12 and 14" bandsaws with a bolted-together vertical member (e.g. two-piece frame) can use risers.

I have never seen any small bandsaws in the 9-10" range be able to take risers.
