    Almost Like Christmas . . . G0514X

Remember the scene from A Christmas Story where the old man wins the crossword puzzle prize? That was me this morning.

Ordered G0514X Saturday. Received email confirming from Grizzly on Monday and a confirmation of shipment later that day. UPS/Overnight called yesterday to schedule delivery for 11:00 am. Great! Beasty will not be here to bother me about the 476 lb tool being unloaded into my cramped shop. Knowing my day would be shot I worked until 3:00 am figuring I could get up around 10:00. At 8:10 am, I hear yelling about a truck in the front yard. I get up and there is the UPS/Overnight truck. I run and get the forklift to unload.
Unload with no problems, no damages. Uncrate, build the Shop Fox base (BTW Grizzly recommends the wrong base, it is about .5" too short, you need to get the next size up) and slide the BS onto the base. Man this rocks! I put the table on, secure trunnions. That is where I am. I have made no alignments and no test run as I don't have a cord and plug.
When all is said and done I will write up a review.

jeff, you have a forklift (asking incredulously)?
no wonder your shop is cramped. (eyeing 476 pound bandsaw enviously).

If your only tool is a hammer, you tend to treat all problems as if they were nails.

I thought that was standard equipment for a WW shop?

This was a joke. I have one neighbor. A wholesaler of hydraulic equipment. 3 employees, UPS stop every morning and evening with no other traffic, perfect property up keep . . everything you want in a neighbor including loading dock and forklift! Pizza was sent to them for lunch for thanks.
After uncrating and putting on mobile stand 2 of the guys came over and offered any help. Really great neighbors.

OMG, this thing is unreal! I went through complete set up including alignment of bearings, etc, properly tensioned blade, checked tracking, installed cord and plug and let her rip. Or rather let her resaw.

I have never resawed anything much in my life. Maybe a cut a 3/4 stock in half, but nothing remotely precise. I just took a 3/4 x 6" x 3' piece of heavily figured birds eye maple and peeled off a 1/16th piece of veneer with zero effort other than keeping flush to the fence. I can't wait to put a real blade on this thing!

OK, Jeffrey. I was holding back. I wasn't going to say anything. I could handle it. But after that description, I can't be quiet any longer.

                      You SUCK!

Don't you love tools that just do their job well?

Most everybody has already expressed my sentiments!

The only thing wrong I see here is the lawn mower in your wood shop. Time to Kerbyfy that place.

                            Morning Jeff...

Congratulations and enjoy! Any compromises as I had to make recently when I did some up-grading of my own?

I have to run now to as it seems I got "snookered" into pressure washing and painting the house before I start the new bedroom suite. She thinks she is "one-up", but I've never mentioned I love to paint to her. ha.. ha...

                            Regards...

I have the same weird thing with painting, though I prefer indoor.
