Craftsman 12 inch tilting band saw.

By chance two of these are available in my area. One on CL and the other from an expired E-bay auction. Both for the same price. $99. I highly doubt they are the same one since the locations are separated by about 60 miles.
If any of you have seen or used a 12 inch craftsman 2 speed 1HP tilting band saw like the one pictured. I would apreciate your comments.

If your only tool is a hammer, you tend to treat all problems as if they were nails.

2 Speed tilting head band saw - my rediculous opinion.

Craftsman has a new one but at 'first glance' I think I'd like the one you're checking out better! 2 speed also. Find out the blade length to be sure it's a standard size.

I have this exact saw. It is made in 93, does not take riser but has a native 6" resawing capacity, which is more than most modern saws of that size. I always use only high speed, the slow speed is supposed to be used only with 1/16" blade. Since I also have a scroll saw - I never use 1/16" blade. It works well, blades are 80" long - easy to find. The biggest blade it takes is 1/2". You will have to make your own fence for it - nothing out there you can buy will fit this saw. The good part - making a fence is easy. I bought my saw on ebay for $150 and have no regrets.
