    Handle mounting question

    Hermit, did you remove the top of the Blade Tension Adjustment Knob? How did you do it? Mine seems like it's cemented on?

      See, thats what I was afraid of. Mine is apparently different, because the knob comes right off the post. It slips into a "socket" kind of like a car jack rod on a scissor type jack. This made it real easy to modify. You may be able to see the "male" stud that is attached to the knob in the photo.

          "Speed Handle" mod for Craftsman BS tensioner

          Hope the photos are self explanatory.
          The aluminum speed handle is bored 0.5" dia. x 0.5" deep.
          Steel Blade Tensioner bored 0.5" x 0.75" deep.
          0.5" dia brass tube is pinned to the Speed Handle and the Blade Tensioner.

            Speed Handle source

            Sorry I didn't mention the source of the aluminum Speed Handle
            (catalog description) came from MSC Industrial Supply. (Here in Elkhart !
            Cat#82405119 Cost a bit over $5.00.
