    Agazzani Bandsaws

Reading the local classifieds this AM, saw an ad for an Agazzani bandsaw. Supposed to be like new and very expensive. I've been out of the tool loop for a while, and was happy with my 18" Laguna. Haven't heard about the Agazzani, and looked it up, and found this commentary about the saw.

Does anyone have one of these. and if so, how do you like it?

    C-Man,

Don't own one but did have a chance to check them out at IWF. I was interested in seeing them in person because they have a great reputation but I think limited distribution hurts their sales. IMO, Agazzani is one of the premier BS makers and you cannot go wrong if the price is right. If I recall they were getting more money than MM which is what I was looking at so I steered away.

Don't know how their customer service is either if that's important to you.

If you have a Laguna, the difference is probably like that between a
Ferrari and a Lamborghini. Both Italian, both fast and powerful, handle great, and both expensive. Opinions run either way but no one really wrong, because few are even close. OTOH, the prices for a Laguna or Agazzani or other italian bandsaw are not as stratospheric as those exotic supercars.

        Morning Cabinetman...

I'm familar with the Aggazani line as I shopped the Italian Stallions at IWF in Atlanta last fall. Extremely well made as most of the Italian line, but as Holgrem stated, they are priced a bit over the Mini-max and Laguna. I do not see a major justification for that in my observations of the machine. Now, if you could get one used at a great price.. well...........?

As far as customer service, if you purchased from Jesse in California the customer service is second to none and Jesse knows band-saws inside out. A shame that the price couldn't be a little lower as he would give Mini-max a run for the money with his band-saw knowledge and IMO blow Laguna out of the water with their customer service (long story that has been dicussed for years on other forums).

Depending on which version of the Laguna 18" you have (they have changed manufacturers several times) you probably wouldn't be making a large up-grade to the "Agga" unless your 18" is one of the older versions that had enough flaws it caused Laguna to make a switch to another manufacturer to stay abreast the competition....

        Regards...
