    Dust Collector Question???

Hey Guys, Would this work for Dust collection in a small shop, 20x30?
Nutone Central Vacuum Unit, Model # CV352/400.
I have the chance to pick this up from Craig's List for around $75.
    Let me know please.

    Low CFM for DC

Looks like the CFM specs are 121 and that is too low for large dust producing equipment. I think you are better off going with a dust collector that is designed for woodworking rather that a house vacuum system.

doubt it. vacumm cleaners have way lower CFMs than Duct collectors.
Also a DC job in a woodshop would probably overwhelm a vacuum designed for household vacuuming. At least a shop vac is designed for larger volumes of materials.

As usual I agree with Loring here
The shopvac idea is only an idea and a household version is less then that

Right now you can get a 2HP DC from Harbor Freight for 169 on sale then use the coupon here on the forum for 30% off and take it home for under $120 and it will do what you want the way you want it done AND it wont' burn out from the abuse like the Nutone will
