What shop machine do you dislike the most?

Me? Bandsaw. PITA to change blades, realign all the guides, make sure the blade / table are at 90 degrees, etc etc etc. I love the versatility, but I wish I were a brilliant engineer that could come up with a far more convenient design!

BandSaw, me too. Love what it can do, but hate the fiddling around with the BS set up for the BS.

I think I'll go with the jointer. It seems like I spend more time worrying about getting that last .001" adjustment on the darn jointer knives, tables, fence, etc. than anything else in the shop. It's a great machine when it's set up well, but I sure can waste a ton of shop time tweaking the thing.

I think it is the router(freehand). For everything it does well it can drive you nuts just as quickly.

I dislike the jointer. Not because there's anything wrong with it, but because it exists, and I can't justify buying one.

Handheld routing/sawing! (Hate the mess and all the setup usually needed)

For me its the toll I don't have when I need it. I have CMSm the BT, a router and a bandsaw. I also don't shange stuff around that much, so its mainly my lack of tools.
Awww forget trying to fix it!!!! Lets just drink beer

My crappy old Delta scroll saw ... I really need to replace it soon with something newer that's much more user friendly ...

My Delta bench top jointer. I can't keep the fence adjusted. I don't use it enough to worry about it but it's a pain.

I would have to go with anything that makes dust! The hand held router has to be it for me. I guess my hands aren't that steady to get anything perfect.

I am with the guys who say hand held router
By the time I set up the bit length the right bearing then get out a "sticky mat" then HOPE I am not getting saw crap all over the place then wind up the motor and HOPE I am not burning things etc.. It is a frustration

To me it is like a mystery. I can do everything else in the shop with great precision but when it comes to hand use router I do it ALLOT but I feel like it is a crap shoot whether or not it is going to be as good as I expect

PLUS when I do doors and use the hand held for the outside Roman Ogee or the like the door has had SO much time put into it that one slip with that 25K RPM monster and I have to start ALL over gain bugs me

I don't dislike any machine, really. However I'm not looking forward to the first time I have to change jointer knives; that looks like it will be a major PITA.

Actually, I love my little 10" bandsaw but I would agree that it is a pain to change the blade and reset the guides. I just ordered a jointer - my local Woodcraft let me put the order in today as a layaway and use next week's 10% discount. Maybe I'll find it more troublesome than the bandsaw. I can't wait! I love making sawdust.
