    Small Drill Bit Source?

Where do you folks find selections of small bits without having to but a set with the larger ones?
    TIA

Usually pick mine up at Lowe's or HD. Ace usually has a good selection, too.

Thanks Don. Haven't checked Ace, I can't find any at Lowes or HD except sets that include larger sizes. But then Tina will be quick to say that I can't find bread in a bakery!

I'm looking for 1/8" and smaller, BTW

I was going to ask how small.
I see you say less than 1/8th.
For sizes smaller than 1/16th and finer choices less than 1/18th you will need to get numbered bit sizes.
There are places that sell bits #60 thru 80 in a small case.
I imagine most industrial supply houses have them.
Like graingers, MSC direct, Enco. They are also used extensively in the printed circuit (PC) board business.
HF used to sell a small bit set that were probably retreads from PC manufacturing.

They break very easily, if you apply force off axis then they tend to flex and break. for that reason they are best used with a drill press. Even then, many chucks will not hoild very small bits, they are often sold with enlarged shanks.

I just bought a bit set at northern tool this week. I wasn't looking for individual bits, but I seem to remember them having a pretty good selection.

            Ken,
H.F. sells them in a blister pack of ten each from 1/16"-1/4" The H.F. that I work in has them on the wall where the power tools are sold.

Not sure how small you need, but Rockler has a 20 pc. Wire Gauge Drill Set, #61 - #80 (.039" - .0135") on sale for $4.99 starting 2/26.
