    Finish sprayer

I seen a sprayer about a month ago that uses mason jars for its containers-just change jars/or use lids to keep a certain mix and use later-can any body help me find this simple air gun again-price was about $50.00

Critter is nice for small projects and touch-ups. I'd use an HVLP system for large projects. Wagner conversion gun works well, even with my 6-gal pancake compressor.

I also like my Wagner conversion gun. Just completed another project using it and Hydrocote Resisthane - about $30/gallon delivered. Ready for recoat in an hour (needed 5 coats to cover oak, however).

I do not like cleaning the Wagner gun though, but for the price it is a great buy.

Uh, I just thought having it was good for brownie points.

Well, one of these days soon I 'm going to use it.
I got it for the supposed ease of cleaning, storing paints in the
jelly jars and for the alleged good performance with smaller compressors.

The Critter is a nice little spray gun and keeps the overspray to a minimum. I've been running it with a P/C pancake compressor.

Just used it this afternoon with some acrylic latex primer on a sign. Used it at about 25 psi and thinned the primer slightly. Worked pretty well. Have only used it with oil based poly before and did very well with out any thinning.

Make sure you clean out the stem and nozzle very well as they can stay clogged up if you don't and you sit there trying to get it to spray and wonder why nothing is comming out!! Thought I had gotten it pretty clean, but guess not.

Mineral spirits and some varying thicknesses of wire got it opened up again.

You can find extra jars/lids at most grocery stores. Lee Valley has extra gaskets which you'll need if you use it to any degree. The gaskets don't seem to hold up very well and have not been able to find any rubber ones thin enough, although have not looked a lot for them.

Anyway, like the little "Critter" a lot so far.

Had problems w. solvent based products w. thw the wagner gun too until I went to the thick white gaskets.
Does the critter use wide mouth jars or regular ones?

Can the Wagner conversion gun be used with a smaller compressor? I have the PC pancake one that comes with the HD kit.

Do you have both the critter and Wagner conversion? Those are the 2 that I'm deciding over. Which one do you like better and why? I'm only using it for projects and not painting walls or anything (I have an airless for that).

The Critter uses standard mason jars. There is also an adaptor to be able to use smaller, standard neck mason jars (tube that goes into the jar is shorter).
