USED JET 1.5HP DC - is it worth it?

    afternoon everyone!

someone is selling a used jet 1.5HP dc for $250. he said that its almost new. it looks like a 1100 model. is it worth it since i will have to replace the existing 30micron bag to something like a 2 micron bag (i dont know how much it is going to cost). what would you offer this person if it was you?

    thanks in advance for answering.

    regars,

If you have to replace the bag probably not worth it. I bought the JDS for $299 because it came with a 1 micron bag.

If that is really an 1100, it is one of the highest rated hobbyist DCs out there. They move considerably more air volume than almost any others. Doesn't sound like too bad a deal. If you can talk him down, even better. Just get a Wynn filter and you'll have the best thing this side of a cyclone.

this is a pic of the DC-1100CK the canister version - its $400 at Amazon.,
There is a DC1100A which has the 30 micron bags, $325 at Amazon with a current $25 rebate.
The canister models I think are fast becoming more popular than the bagged ones for good reason.
A 20-in canister upgrade costs about $165-200 which makes your machine more costly than new if you want to upgrade. Even a used price of $250 vs 300 new for bagged doesn't seem like that great a deal on a DC.
I'd pass or bargain for something closer to $175... IF that's the machine you want.
A new similarly priced HF unit with similar facilities (actual specs are close to this unit, don't believe the HF specs) only costs $169 with 30 micron bags and can be upgraded with a canister.
