    Air compressor accessories

After much thinking, I decided not to buy a HF air compressor, but instead to spend a bit more and get a Makita MAC2400. The compressor should be delivered sometime this week (how am I going to explain this one to my wife).
I am looking for advise on the type of hose and attachments to buy. Since this is an oiled unit, what type of oil does it use?

My advise re: hose - buy at least the rubber hoses, don't buy PVC, they become unmanagable when they get a little cold. SOmeone was recommending the PUR? hoses, polyurethane over rubber I think as even better (lighter and more flex than rubber) but I don't have one to compare.

as for oil, don't they sell pint and quart bottles of compresor oil at the box hardware stores?

In addition to the oil in the hardware stores, my Husky branded Campbell Hausfeld compress had instructions that Mobil 1 Full Synthetic 10W-30 was good to use. But make sure it is a recommended oil, before grabbing auto oil for a compressor. A vast majority has additives that will cause problems with the compressor. I just got two quarts of Mobil 1 5W-30, because it will be in an unheated garage and run a little during the winter.

I would use rubber hoses, and only use air compressor oil.

And don't forget to get air tool oil.

There may be some words in your owners manual of an alternative to air compressor oil, such as a certain automotive type, but I would only use what is recommended.

Usually air compressors reccomend a non-detergent oil and I'm surprised a multiweight was reccomended. I am a fan of synthetic oils there are several compressor specific oils available.
I also like polyurethane hoses. make sure to buy the type with the string reinforcement, not the soild/cast type.

            Cabinetman,
The two pictures of bottles of oil that you linked to from HF, I can't seem to find them. Do you know the HF item numbers?
