A few questions if you don't mind. What are the specs? I'm guesstimating about 8" cut, with 50" deck. Couldn't even begin to guess the motor size. And other features?!

Are you going to cover the belts, or leave them open?

In general (to anyone who can answer) how do you get the top smooth / clean and know it's SMOOTH / STRAIGHT / LEVEL / SQUARE / etc?

you at least another 50 years or so, also like the mobile base,looks good and sturdy. Only thing I see wrong with it....it is about 1200 miles away from
my shop...too much distance to run over there and back to use it! eezlock

Congrats on the find. You did a nice job with the fixins. You know how it is - most of the tools I bought when I could barely afford them are really old now. BTW, like that switch, looks like mine.

Got her shinning like a new penny. I have rehabbed a couple of old tools before. There is always a certain amount of satisfaction from it. Thats something to be proud of for sure.

Great job Pappy! Like someone else said, she is ready for another 50 years!! There is lots of satisfaction in bringing back the beauty and the functionality of an old tool (and saving it from junk yard). If you don't mind, how many hours did you have to work on it?
