What Morticing Attachment with Hitachi Drill press?

I have the Hitachi B16RM 15 Stationary Drill Press that everybody
was talking about back in April. My question is what Morticing attachment
fits well on this press?

Does this one from Amazon fit?

Is there one made especially for the Hitachi? Anybody have any experience with this issue?

I have the same drill press and was also looking for a mortising attachment. After reading numerous posts here as well as on other sites about how well the mortising attachments worked, this is the one I ended up getting.....

The delta attachment is $60. If you have the Hitachi DP, you'll have to take the laser guides off. PITA.

As good as the DP mortise attachments work, you'll be better off spending $99 for the HF mortiser. But, the Delta and Jet stand-alone mortisers are a great step over the HF mortiser as well as the DP attachments, just like Andy said.

so you ended up getting a dedicated 1/2hp DELUXE MORTISER rather than an attachment for your Hitachi Drill press?

did you read about any attchments that work with this press as well as the unit that you bought?

A few years ago I got a Delta kit as a gift for my drill press After I read some reviews on the attachments and some of the issues with them - squaring the fence, limited depth, etc I decided to return the kit and do what I'd planned to do wich was get a good forstner bit set and chisels. If you want to do mortises on a DP, a forstner set and sharp chisel will work just as well as a mortising kit and you can use the tools for other things.
