    Delta 14" BS -- Belt length ?

Hey guys, this saw I just bought is missing the belt. I'm planning to buy one of the link belts from Woodcraft tomorrow but I wasn't sure of the length. Anyone have one handy they can measure for me ? It doesn't give that kind of detail in the parts list or the manual.

    Many thanks.

measure the center to center distance of the two pulleys, D.
Measure the diameter of the two pulleys d1 and d2
    the approx length is going to be 2 x D + ((d1+d2) x 1.57)
    (all meaures in inches).
since the link belt is adjustable in increments of an inch and sold by the foot, you don't have to get too close.

Since it's just the weight of the motor that gives it the proper tension, I can't really measure the distance from center to center of the pulleys. The motor is mounted to a plate that's hinged -- without the belt it hangs almost straight down. So I want to create the link belt the same length as the stock belt -- seems like I'd be creating more or less tension than intended if I do something otherwise, right ?

Might be making it more complicated than it really is.

        You are

grab a piece of clothesline and wrap around the pulleys, either prop the motor about halfway thru it's travel or use the rope to pull it to that point, mark the rope and measure. That will get you plenty close enough for link belt.
If it ain't broke.. don't fix it!!!... but you can always 'hop it up'
