It is brittle for sure.....I've got a couple of chips around the plate opening from when I routed the opening for the plate. It is just 2 pieces glued together so its only 1" thick but supported by the maple. So far I don't have any scratches but really haven't used it very much...been spending most of the last few weekends scraping and painting the outside of my windows..YUCK!!!!Affirmative on the Brittle part. It machines beautifully, but is inherently brittle. For a counter top or something like that where it is thoroughly supported, it is great. But I would be a little hesitant to use it as a router table top.
But since you say you have it approx. 1 1/4-1 1/2" thick, maybe so. Just don't know.
Let us know how it turns out.

Mike my craftsman table appears to be different then what you have. I've had it about a year and a half now it appears...here's a thread about it.

The fence is just flat on the bottom...you can see the original hole to the inside of the black knobs that hold the fence down. I just used a rockler t-track kit for the side and front of the corian. I just drilled and counter-sunk the track where needed as the supplied holes of course didn't always end up where I needed them so when I tighten the fence down the track doesn't lift. You can also see where I left the tracks short on the front so I can remove the t-bolts as needed.
Can ya just grind off the l-brackets on yours and drill holes for something like mine where needed? The rockler t-track kit goes on sale all the time for like 10.00...I always keep at least one in stack..lolThe truth is just the truth.Comment

My craftsman pro table is cast and "ground" aluminum It is painted black.
The consensus being that the table will sag, maybe I will laminate the corian to a piece of 1/4" thick aluminum and go from there.Comment
