Best Riser Kit for Harbor Freight Bandsaw

I just bought the HF Bandsaw and now I need a riser kit for it. I have searched and found that the Grizzly, Jet and Ridgid kits fit the HF Bandsaw, but do any others? The Grizzly is $60 on their site, and there is a jet on eBay for $46. I can't find anything cheaper. Does anyone know of a cheaper solution?

While I'm asking bandsaw questions, I'd love to hear recommendations about a decent rip fence system. Preferably a plan or idea to make my own or an inexpensive, but good rip fence.

    Thanks!

I saw this on WN the other day (note it's a 4" extension not 6" but the $ is right):

I bought the H3051 for my HF and had to get a new guide post. I believe the H7316 has the correct post.
      Good luck

Considering that back when I bought my Ridgid it took me MONTHS to find a clearance $40 kit that was flown in special from Puerto Rico (Thanks again Esteban ), I'd have to say that the $50 is pretty much the bottom on your price range. Currently I'm looking for a kit for a Delta and it looks like I'm going to have to settle for the $110'ish price tag that the Delta name seems to demand.

I really don't think you're going to do much better than those prices you mentioned.

That 4" grizzly is only $25. I wonder how much I'll miss the extra 2"?

I'd really have to say that the BIGGEST problem you're going to run into is finding blades locally will be next to impossible. 93 1/2 and 105" blades are pretty commonly known, 101" blades wouldn't be near as common AFIIK.

Not a big deal if you keep inventory on hand, but could turn a blade breaking in the middle a project into a major catashtrophe.

I was about to point you to the HF kit, but it doesn't show on their web site! It used to called part number 09645 and sold for ~$50.

Sorry I couldn't be more help.

I was wondering if anyone knew about the HF kit, because the "manual" (yes I put quotes around it because we all know how instructive the assembly instructions are) details a HF riser kit.

Anyway, very good points about the difficulties of finding non-standard blades. I have a welder and I guess i could wled my own, but I've never wleded bandsaw blades and really, that would be a lot of trouble. I'll probably spend the extra money and get a standard size then. Can anyone confirm for sure that the Grizzly H7316 fits without having to come up with a new guide post somewhere?

Does anyone have model numbers/places to buy the ridgid or jet kits? Do these fit?

Call HF customer support they have a riser kit for their own saw. I have it on mine and find nothing wrong with it.

As for a fence the Kreg fence is the one I'd suggest.

I believe the HF riser was discontinued several months ago.

I called HF today and asked about the HF Riser kit for the Bandsaw. They said that the previous Riser kit, item 09645 that many have referenced on the forums here, is indeed discontinued. BUT, they told me to order Item 24536, which is the current riser kit. they said it is currently backordered, but I'll be ordering it once it is in stock!
