    Powermatic Model 73 Dust Collector

What do you guys think? Found this on craigslist for $150.00.

"This is a powermatic Model 73 professional grade dust collector with the optional lower filter bag (instead of plastic bag).

    1150 to 1200cfm.

    Has 2 - 4" ports with caps.

comes prewired with cord for 120v, but can be wired 220v.

Has wheels and also shop cleanup (lower pickup to be used as a shop vac) "

Here is a link to the specs and a picture. Not much info on the web, it's an older discontinued model.

    Thanks!

does it have a built in floor sweep? sort of suggested by text.

Looks like the size is to small (16" x 32") for it to have 20" diameter bags like the other 1200-1600 1.5 to 2 HP DCs.

5 micron bags, may neeed to be replaced... it looks kind of dated.

A felt bag on the bottom isn't always good either being you can't see when it's full.

The way the motor is mounted reminds me of the Delta that just tested real well in I think Wood a few issues back.

I noticed the same thing in terms of the mounting. After seeing the ad I looked up my April 2006 FWW mag where they did a test on DCs and the winner, Delta 50-760 was the only one with the same motor mount. I wonder if the mounting effects the performance.

That is probably the article I was thinking of, not in Wood. The Delta was the winner.
