What lubricant Delta Mortiser gear & rack

Hoping to finish this as soon as I get your sage advice...

Long story... had to take apart the Delta Mortiser slightly in order to refit the hub assembly (the part that connects the arm to the gear that moves the thing up and down)...

anyhow I have it pretty open right now, seems like a great time to lube it up (especially considering I had to clean it all off in order to work on it!)

I have white lithium grease, some spray on teflon multiuse stuff, possibly some 3in1 type oil, WD-40, Tri-flow ...

    so... what should I use?

    Thanks!!

I would just use regular grease (bearing grease) to lubricate a rack and pinion set. You want something that will stick to it. Maybe while lithium will work, but not WD 40 which is not really much of a lubricant at all.

Thanks Loring, I know you probably can't imagine not knowing something like that.... but what do I know from bearing grease??! OK, now I know!
