    Oscillating drill press? Thoughts?

Does anyone have one of these oscillating drill presses? Was thinking that this would be my next tool purchase but I cannot find much information on them.

I have an occasional need for a drill press and an occasional need for a spindle sander. Thought combining the two might be nice.

Spindle travel on the smaller one seems too short.

the only ones I know of in current production is the two shop fox models, you can find them on amazon and Grizzly (www.grizzlytools.com)

If your only tool is a hammer, you tend to treat all problems as if they were nails.

      Oscillating D/P

Had one once and never was really satisfied with it. Too many moving parts at the "head" end, chewed up belts pretty fast, and made for a sloppy spindle shaft..ergo lots of "run-out". Switched to a regular DP and spend the savings on a oscllating spindle sander.

        EDIT,
        Sorry can't resist.
Laughing too hard when I saw that.

Finally a tool that LOML can use as much as I do (or more?).
