    HF Jointer

I just got the 6" HF jointer and have it put together. However I have something left over that I can't find a place for and it's not in the book.
There is a steel rod about 6" long with a fork looking thing on each end held on by e-clips. It is stamped 6" on each of the forks. What is it????

That piece of equipment took me longer to put together than anything I've ever tackled.

    Thanks Dan

If your only tool is a hammer, you tend to treat all problems as if they were nails.

      Thanks Lchien,
I was wondering if maybe that's what it was and got left in the box at the factory.
I looked the book over good and couldn't find any reference to it.

Any way I stood back and turned it on and nothing smoked or flew off.

I've got the same piece that I've never found a home for. My first thought was that it was some sought of tool for knife adjustment, but I havent found a use for it yet.
