    Cleaning the BT

    I was using my air compressor (porter cable 6 gallon one that came with 2 nailers) this morning to clean the BT.( I only cut couple of plywoods and MDFs yet there was so much fine dust. geez!). I was not happy with the blow gun's output so I was looking into the air compressor accessory kit I bought at HD ($14 has small nozzles for various use). I found a little black cone sized thing with small gun hole) and attached it to the blow gun and tried yet. Whoa! that was awesome power! Now, I didnt have to remove the panel and just few shots and all the dust were gone..

    Yeah ain't compressed air neat! Sounds like you got the same type air nozzle that I have and it does put out some air for cleaning stuff. I still like taking the sides off though as I only clean every 6 months or so and it's such a hassle to put that one side with the plug back together. One of these days I figure out a way to make it simpler but until then I'm not taking that side off any more then I have to.

      Hi Mac;
      Yeh, I know what you mean about lining up that panel with the electric stuff. I moved the ground position from the side panel to the front panel, and it helped a lot, but putting that panel back never seems to go right the first time..or the second...

        Hey WEG. Yeah I too moved the ground wire but it needs more then that I'm afraid to make it easy. I've seen where one member replaced the whole side with a wooden panel but I'm not that brave or creative.

          For a quicky clean up, i'll move mine out of the shop and lean it on its side . Then fire up my leaf blower and have at it. The saw dust then becomes lawn fertilizer.

            The ground wire is a PITA - I moved mine and it made it much easier than it was. I generally take things apart every 6 months (or after a really major project) and clean it all out and relube the lift mechanism. Keeps things smooth.
