    New Bandsaw

Now that I have bought the 12" Craftsman saw I will need some advice on blades. Remember I am new to this!

Is there a "combination" blade that is adequate, do I need a fine blade for more delicate work and what about resawing?

I gathered TW is the blade of blades - correct?

    All advise appreciated!

The timberwolf blades are certainly one way you can go and do no wrong.
One good side effect is the help you can get from Suffolk machinery - I hear they have a great technical staff.

Selection of blades, there is no one magic bullet.
Basically the keys are: narrow blade = maneuverability, wide blade = straight cuts.

You need a few teeth in the thickness of the material, so for thin stuff, 10-12-14 teeth per inch, for modest stuff, 6 tpi, for resaws several inches thick, 3 tpi. Also the gullets need to be big (e.g. skiptooth even) for deep cuts.

The guys at Suffolk should be able to recommend three blades, one for
fine curved work, one for medium thick, modest curves and one for resaw.
    (If you do all three).

If your only tool is a hammer, you tend to treat all problems as if they were nails.
