Looking for recent jigsaw review in WWing mag

One of the recent WWing mags (it was Fine WWing, Wood,
or Workbench) did a good review of several jigsaws.
All of my mags are packed up and in storage because we're
moving. Anyway, I have the opportunity to buy the
Milwaukee 6266-22 for $100 at Dixieline's tool demo.
Can anyone give me a synopsis of where this one ranked
in the review? Some pretty good reviews from Amazon and
it's supposed to be right up there with the Bosch--which
    was my first choice.

    Thanks, Paul

Sorry I don't have that article but am also interested in hearing what the mag says. I'm leaning towards the new DeWalt 6.5 amp right now but the Bosch has got to be a really good one since everybody tries to compare theirs against it.
May you die and go to heaven before the Devil knows you're dead. My Best, Mac

      Sounds like a deal!

$196 at Amazon, $139 at HD!

          Paul,

I've dug through my archives, found the magazine, and scanned the eight page article. I'd send you a pdf of it but you have indicated in your profile that you do not want to receive e-mails from fellow BT3 members. If you want it e-mail me with your address and I'll forward it to you.

Mac, since I can't attach attachments when sending you an e-mail through BT3, you'll have to either give me your e-mail address here or send me an e-mail first so I can reply with the article.

I don't have the mag but I do have, and like, the Milwaukee jigsaw.

              Mac,

For what ever its worth, I made the mistake of buying the earlier version of the Dewalt jig saw, and quite frankly, it sucks.

Cutting a somewhat straight line if a major undertaking and there sems absolutely no way to keep the blade from deflecting to the right or left.

Also the "blower" functions as well as a bead person. I find that lung power is way better.

Whether Dewalt addressed these major faults in the newest model is yet to be seen, and if I had to do it over again, I spend the extra money for a Festool.

My 2 cents, for whatever its worth.

OK Bosch makes the best Jigsaws!

                    Drunkcat,

Here's the last page of the Article. Summary: If money is no object they feel splurge on the Festool but they feel the Best is the Bosch 1590 (as do I)

Click the image to enlarge.(BTW, they tested others that aren't pictured here, Porter Cable, Hilti, etc...)

                      Barrell grip?

So I read a lot about people lovong the bosch barrell grip feature, but does anyone here actually own that style? I am curious to know if it is comfortable. It just looks as though it would be odd in your hand as opposed to a stanard handle.

I have the top handle and love it. They say the barrel grip grants more control but I have absolutely no problem with the top handle and highly recommend it.

Do Bosch jig saws only take bosch blades? I was told that but was wondering if its still true? or was it just for the older ones?
YOU DONT HAVE TO TRAIN TO BE MISERABLE. YOU HAVE TO TRAIN TO ENDURE MISERY.

i have the cordless version of the bosch. it takes the T shank blades.

and let me say--this thing cuts SWEET. i've never wavered from my line and all the cuts are nice and sqare.

Thanks for posting the summary. I have enabled my email. I was curious if the Milwaukee gave the 1590 any competition!?!
